Château la Dominique 2016

- +
$139.99

Ideally situated northwest of the town of Saint-Émilion, bordering on the Pomerol appellation, Château La Dominique has 29 hectares of remarkable soil adjoining the region’s most famous vineyards. The owner’s (Fayat family) clear ambition is to be in tune with their terroir: the respect for biodiversity, the use of natural vine treatment products, mating disruption, etc. After renovating the vineyard and modernizing the winemaking facilities, they engaged the internationally-acclaimed architect Jean Nouvel to make a project of the cellar which is today one of Bordeaux’s most beautiful modern cellar. The wine is an elegantly styled Saint-Émilion with medium/full body, silky tannins and offers a complex aromatic profile that ages well.

Château La Dominique 2016 has a brilliant red color, combining the generosity of Saint-Émilion and the richness of Pomerol. The bouquet is redolent of ripe fruit along with subtle notes of spice, truffle, licorice, pepper, and forest floor. The wine starts out very straightforward, going on to show roundness, body, silky tannin, and great precision. It features a long, full aftertaste that leaves a very pleasant sensation of plenitude.
