Domaine Koquelicot Boheme 2018

Koquelicot-Boheme
- +
$19.49137,02 HRK

The name Domaine Koquelicot would suggest this is a French winery. However, this is not the case here. It is an interesting and unusual story. Olivier Ertzbischoff, Burgandy wine lover and Jacqueline Marovac born from Rijeka decided to start producing wine at their home in Gračišće, Istria. They buy grapes from vineyards below Motovun and from the Istrian west coast and do the grape processing in a rented basement near their home. Mr. Ertzbischoff used his bonds of friendships with French winemakers and enologists and the results are amazing: stylish, different wines, very successfully follow the style of Burgundian white wines in combination with Istrian terroir. The assortment is simple: Chardonnay, Malvasia Istriana, and the combination of these varieties. The name of the winery is a specific, adapted version of the French word that means poppy.
