$119.99

For the last 140 years, Maison Joseph Drouhin has been in the hands of the Drouhin family. Today, the fourth generation is driven by the same passion that inspired the founder of the company. Joseph Drouhin has adopted the biological and biodynamic approach. Only natural products are used in the vineyards and all procedures show the utmost respect for the soil, the vine and the environment. The style of Joseph Drouhin is an alliance between character, balance and harmony. Wines meant to be drunk young are fresh and subtle; wines meant for keeping acquire a luscious complexity with ageing. The wines of Joseph Drouhin are found on the finest tables.

Country France
Region Burgundy
Variety Pinot Noir
Category Red wines
Bottle size 0.75 L
Alcohol 13 %
  • Baked cherries
  • Earth
  • Leather

Gevrey-Chambertin is a wine with a beautiful, bright ruby color. Intensely fruity on the nose, the aromas are reminiscent of black cherry, wild blackberry and liquorice. The woody character is subtle and marries delicately with the other aromas. As the wine evolves, there are more complex notes, such as mild spice, nutmeg and leather. Later still, mushroom and damp earth nuances make their appearance. Although present on the palate, tannin is never astringent but blends itself harmoniously with the natural freshness and velvety texture of the wine. The same aromas encountered earlier on the nose are found again in the aftertaste.

  • Beef stew
  • Game meat
  • Roasted poultry
  • Veal
