Here, on marl and sandstone soil, Jakončić family has been growing vines from 1847. Since then, the winegrowing district of Goriška brda become one of the most renowned Slovenian wine region. Charming hills in a mild sub-Mediterranean climate also proved its quality especially with Bordeaux varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, alonside the native white Rebula grape.

Red Carolina is a Cabernet Sauvignon 75%, Merlot 15%, Cabernet Franc 5% blend. Garnet red color immediately pulls you in its mature scents, with a distinctive of cherries and cherry jam aromas. Mouthfeel is dry, succulent, with fine ripe tannins. The wine is strong and full-bodied, with the flavor of pepper, exotic spices and chocolate, and also very complex with long after taste.

The grapes are macerated for a month. The wine matures for 24 months in 225L barrels at a constant temperature and humidity.
