Daniel Szabo from Markus Winery is an excellent example of Croatian Vins de garage (garage winery). He made his first dingač in the middle of Zagreb, on Markuševac hill (the winery was named after the hill). Markus winery buys the highest quality grapes from small eco vineyards and brings them to Zagreb for further production. In Markus winery, an emphasis is being put on indigenous varieties, plavac mali, and babić. By combining the traditional and modern winemaking methods, they give a unique mark to their wines, characteristic for Markus brand. Markus winery today produces a total of 17,000 bottles.

The wine is a ruby-red opaque color. Soft, round and harmonious. The fragrance is sophisticated with pronounced fruitiness. Spicy notes of tobacco and dark chocolate dominate the nose. The taste is full and at the same time fresh with a pleasant cling of the tannins that hints that the wine was lying in a wooden barrel. Grapes come from ecological vineyards from Nadin area, the region of northern Dalmatia. It aged for 12 months in French barrels (225L).
