Valdespino, one of the oldest and only one of the few family producers in Jerez. Alfonso Valdespino was a knight who, along with King Alfonso X, fought for the city of Jerez against the Arabs in 1264. As a reward for his sacrifice, he was given land in Jerez. Today, Valdespino is owned by the Estevez family, who own 750 hectares of orchards and one of the few to operate a single vineyard Sherry wines.
Valdespino Palo Cortado Viejo C.P. represents the very top of the hierarchy in Sherry. Etymologically Calle Ponce symbolizes the road where the old cellar was located. It is bottled after 25 years (on average) of oxidative aging in the solera system. The mahogany color is intense. Luxurious and beautifully defined nose whose opus consists of notes of toasted hazelnuts, walnuts, smoke, citrus mineral and cloves. An explosion of dried fruit, sweet spices and vanilla on the palate. Full body, monumental texture and endless finish.
