Zagreb Bubbles – International festival of sparkling wines
On 3rd June, KlovićeviDvori Gallery in Zagreb, will host the first international sparkling wines festival by the name Zagreb Bubbles. Around 100 exhibitors will showcase the best domestic and international sparkling wines available on Croatian market. Do you need more reasons to save the date?
Croatia has more than 140 registered sparkling wine producers with more than 500 different domestic and international sparkling labels available on the shelves. Without a doubt, the sparkling segment is among the fastest growing segments in the wine industry. Seems like we enjoy a glass of sparkling wine more often, alone, as an appetizer, during the meal or at the end. Sparkling wines tend to be more diverse than most of us thought.
The organizers state that the days before the festival will be filled with special workshops; starting with the Plešivica, as the leading sparkling wine region in Croatia. Masterclasses will include foreign wineries, as Antinori and TribautSchloesser.
The day before the Zagreb Bubbles Festival, on Friday, June 2nd, an event will be held at the same venue from 17:00 to 21:00, where guests will be able to taste the wine selection in the organizer’s choice of about 150 top domestic and foreign labels available on the Croatian market, including some archive and rare artefacts.
In parallel with the Zagreb Bubbles festival on Gradec, the ZG Wine & Food restaurant festival will be held from 26 May to 11 June, where guests will be presented with 7 restaurants and caterers of the finest Croatian winemakers. Every evening, there will be a rich music program with numerous concerts and DJ performances on the festival stage with an open view of the city and Zagreb cathedral.
