Jedna, or “The one” in translation, triumphed at this year’s International Wine & Spirit Competition. Judges at the International Wine & Spirit Competition praised Little Gipsy gin’s “floral and fruity with an array of powdered spices. Earthy notes and roots abound with abundant sultanas, figs, and red meadow fruits. Brambles lifted citrus and pine freshness. Vanilla and elegant spice complexity on the enduring finish.

The International Wine & Spirit Competition is an annual event founded by German-British winemaker Anton Massel in 1969. With entries from more than 90 countries worldwide, the awards given at this competition are highly regarded in the industry. This year, Jedna triumphed in the category of solid spirits.

But that’s not all – Jedna also won gold for Travarica, described as “deliciously soothing with big alpine character. Possesses beautifully balanced notes of chamomile, bay leaves, and dill on the nose. Deliciously complex flavors of dried herbs, bright, zesty citrus, vanilla, and a lingering spoonful of honey on the palate.

Kajsija (apricot) brandy won the silver medal and was described as having a “gorgeously jammy and sweet with a well-balanced mouthfeel, bursting with lively flavors of apricots, smooth vanilla. A delectable pinch of cinnamon and cloves on the gloriously lingering finish.

Finally, Šljivovica (plum) barrique brandy, which also won the silver medal, was described as having “a soft floral nose with baking spices. The wonderfully rich, rounded palate perfectly balances fruit’s sweetness and the woody finish.

Jedna’s success at the International Wine & Spirit Competition is a remarkable achievement. Their success is a testament to their hard work and passion, the rich heritage of the Slavonian region, and the traditional methods used to produce top-quality spirits.
