Kalazić vineyards are located at Banska kosa (Ban’s hair), to the northeast of Baranja. On the Hungarian border near the mighty Danube. Proximity of Danube significantly affects the microclimate of that area. With sandy soil it creates ideal conditions for the production of healthy and good quality grapes, which is then the basis for obtaining high-quality wines. The grapes were grown in this area since the ancient Roman time. They have called that area Mons Aureus, respectively meaning, Golden Hill. It is interesting that the name of Baranja is in direct relationship with wine. Baranja, translated from the Hungarian means wine mother.
Lots of sun and the specific soil of Baranja are responsible for this stylish mature wine. Before the bottling, the wine ages in oak barrels. The wine opens up through an attractive and complex intertwining aromas of black currant and plum jam, with notes of cedar and soft smoky tones. Full and rich in flavor, this wine uniquely interprets the famous variety, giving it its own, specific, Baranja note.
