Polz Grüner Veltliner Steinfeder 2015

Young Herbert Polz recently took over from his father a winery and twelve acres of vineyards on the southern side of the Danube in the Austrian Winesburg Wachau. The winery itself was founded in 1893. In 2001, after a great reconstruction of the wine cellar and the construction of additional contents, a new winery period is being launched, and a whole new page of wineries goes after Herbert’s return from the faculty with a diploma of enologist and taking vineyards and wine cellar. Although the most popular terraces are located on the northern side, the Polz winery shows that personal expression and top quality can be found on their side of the Danube. The fresh, fresh, but very characterful veltliners are certainly strong in these wineries. In production, they focus on strict state programs of environmental protection and sustainability, which are more rigorous than the rules of Vine Wachau require. This young winery will certainly build a reputation as it deserves, and by then you will have a unique opportunity to discover and enjoy this, still, more overwhelming meaning, hidden wines

Fresh and light white wine with lots of fruit and herbal notes. Very playful, and after the siphon reveals the mineral character. Wine to quench the thirst for in warm days. It does not have to be accompanied by food since it is light and fresh. But it goes wonderfully with light appetizers, lighter sauces, spring delicacies such as asparagus, beans, and spicy wok.
