The wine growing tradition in the Štimac family goes back to the beginning of the 20th century. The first vineyards were planted in 1918 by the great grandfather of the current generation of the Štimac family, Mihovil Mijo Popich, known by his nickname Rizman. A new vineyard was planted in new locations, in Komarna, almost on a border with Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Štimac family is the first investor and ideological initiator of the new wine growing region, which included more than 80 hectares of vine plants in 2012. The name Tribidrag comes from the same variety that is also known by the name Kaštelanski Crljenak. Worldwide known as Zinfandel in USA or Primitivo in Italy. Tribidrag as a wine variety and wine is found in the Croatian history during the 15th century, while it enjoys royal status among Dalmatian wines. At that time Tribidrag is an established and respected wine grape variety in which enjoyed the leading Croatian writers and was also known and recognized outside Croatia.
