Tomac Winery is one of the most renowned producers of sparkling wines in Croatia with a history of more than 100 years in winemaking. Located at Plešivica, in the Zagreb region area they produce amazing sparkling and still wines. In 2006. Tomac started producing wines in traditional terracotta vessels, amphorae, with minimal intervention in the winemaking process. In this natural approach, grape juice remains in contact with the skin from several days to couple of months, extracting the rich flavors and getting rich, amber color.
Sparkling wine from the amphorae. Method Traditionnelle. Chardonnay 50% Old Plešivica sortiment 50%. Brut Nature. The wine has been macerated in clay amphorae for 6 months and then another 18 months in large oak barrels. Quince and tobacco, brioche and toasted bread mixed with oranges accompanied by the racy acidity.
