Once upon a time, every household in Herzegovina had their own vineyard planted with Žilavka, Blatina, and other autochthonous varieties. Wars happened and the state borders changed, but the wine remained an important part of the Herzegovinian past, present, and future. This is how the story of the Škegro family begins. A story where tradition has been passed from knee to knee to eventually become something that the whole family enjoys doing. A modern approach to traditional, love for vineyards and wine, and a strong desire to offer the spirit of Hercegovina in full glory. Plenty of sunshine, solid stone, and healthy ecological footprint, together with the centuries-old tradition, gives top quality wines.

Unlike often delicate Blatina, Trnjak is predestined to achieve opulent and big wines. Lots of red fruit, plenty of body, not too tight tannin structure and ideally fitted freshness in backbone. Some balsamic notes as well and more complexity than it seems. Decanting the wine is recommended.
