Once upon a time, every household in Herzegovina had their own vineyard planted with Žilavka, Blatina, and other autochthonous varieties. Wars happened and the state borders changed, but the wine remained an important part of the Herzegovinian past, present, and future. This is how the story of Škegro family begins. A story where tradition has been passed from knee to knee to eventually become something that the whole family enjoys doing. Modern approach to traditional, love for vineyards and wine, and a strong desire to offer the spirit of Hercegovina in full glory. Blatina is delicate and gentle grape commonly enjoyed young, but in this case it is schooled in cellar with ambition to develop further with time. With time, oak integration gives Blatina desired effect. Fruit deepens and aromas of appearing. Specific earthiness of Blatina comes forth entangled with dry red and black fruit. Decanting is highly recommended.
