Advent in Zagreb – Map & Guide

Spending your winter holidays in Croatia? If you decide to visit Croatian capital, urban and charming Zagreb, here is idea what to see and taste during the Advent in Zagreb!

In the December, Zagreb streets are filled with Christmas lights and the scent of mulled wine. The atmosphere every wine lover in town will enjoy! There have never been more Christmas markets in town so we gathered few interesting details about what to see and taste in Zagreb.

Take a look at our infographic and start exploring Zagreb in the Advent time, certainly the most charming part of the year. There is something different to try on every stand so do not stop at the first one!

You can start from ice-skating at the Tomislav Square and continue through the Zrinjevac Park and the Chef’s Street in Tomićeva to end up in the Upper Town of Zagreb for some amazing sights. Beside sausages that are really a trademark for the Christmas Markets in Zagreb, don’t forget to try some of the Croatian traditional cuisine. We suggest trying the famous pie with onions, tomato and anchovies or sardines from the island Vis, called “Viška pogača” or the dish Zagreb is most famous about, the pastry filled with cottage cheese, named “štrukli”.
